Types of Metal Finishes / Display Fittings and Store Fixtures

Clear Anodized

This finish type is an electrochemical treatment that enhances aluminum’s natural oxide layer, providing a durable, wear and corrosion-resistant silver sheen. It’s commonly used for its protective qualities and aesthetic appeal in various applications.

Satin Anodized

This finish type is a matte surface treatment for aluminum, achieved through an anodizing process that increases durability and corrosion resistance. It is known for its soft, non-reflective appearance and is commonly used in various applications for its durability and visually appealing matte look.

Polished Anodized

This finish type is an anodizing treatment that gives aluminum a reflective, mirror-like surface, enhancing its durability and corrosion resistance. It is favored for its glossy appearance and is widely used in applications that require both visual appeal and material longevity.

Satin Chrome

This finish type is achieved plating chrome over matte nickel to achieve a hard, uniform finish that is semi-lustrous with low reflectivity. It is also referred to as pearl or velour chrome, which does not have the lines or grainy appearance found in traditional satin nickel/chrome finishes.

Polished Chrome

This finish type is achieved plating chrome over a matte nickel base to achieve a hard, uniform surface, which is then polished to a bright, mirror-like appearance. This finish is known for its durability, resistance to wear, and corrosion, making it a popular choice for both its aesthetic appeal and longevity.

Brushed Nickel

This finish type is created by directionally abrading nickel plating to produce a distinctive, textured appearance. This technique removes the natural shine, yielding a muted and uniform look that conceals imperfections and polishing lines, making it a popular choice for a variety of applications.

Brushed Stainless Steel

This finish type is created by polishing stainless steel in one direction with a fine brush, resulting in a matte sheen with fine lines. This finish, known for hiding blemishes, is often used in appliances and high-traffic areas. However, it’s slightly more prone to corrosion than a polished finish.

Polished Stainless Steel

This finish type is achieved by extensive polishing, resulting in a highly reflective, mirror-like surface. This finish is characterized by its bright, shiny appearance and is commonly used in applications where aesthetics are important, such as in architectural features and decorative hardware.

Polished Brass

This finish type is achieved by polishing the brass to a high sheen and sealing it with a lacquer to maintain its golden tone and protect against tarnishing. This finish is often used for decorative hardware and display fixtures due to its bright and shiny qualities.

Black Powder Coated

This finish type is a durable, protective finish applied to materials using a dry black powder that is heat-cured. It resists scratches, fading, and wear, and is used for its sleek look and robustness on various products.

Clear Satin Anodized

Aluminum is treated through an anodizing process that converts the aluminum surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. This thicker layer of anodic oxide makes the aluminum stronger and able to withstand damage. Color powder coating is also available upon request.
