Basic Rod Fixing Kits, Rods and Fixing Components

The 6mm Rod Display System offers a variety of modular components, including rods, top/bottom rod fixings, wall fixings, panel/shelf support fittings, specialty supports, and finishing components. This system is suitable for standard ceiling-to-floor and wall-to-wall suspended applications, as well as various other special configurations. The standard threaded rod lengths are 1.5m (4′ 11-1/16″) and 0.5m (1′ 7-11/16″). The rods can be adjusted by joining them together for longer lengths or shortened in place during installation. Additionally, rods are available in 1m (3′ 3-1/32″) and 0.5m (1′ 7-11/16″) with non-threaded ends for use in wall-mounted applications. The most popular standard rod suspended fixing kits include rod fixings for ceiling, ceiling-to-floor, or wall-to-wall applications, rods, and decorative end caps. Furthermore, panel/shelf side-grips or other specialty supports can be added at your discretion.

Note: 6mm rods are available in standard rod suspension kits with ceiling-overhead, ceiling-to-floor, or wall-to-wall fixings. Ceiling-to-floor suspension kit comes with two or three R1500 rods. For taller suspended display applications additional R500 or R1500 threaded rods can be purchased separately. Rods can be shortened in place during installation. Use KRS-RG05 Ceiling Fixing Kit with top panel support for hanging lightweight signs and graphic panels (not recommended for heavy items suspended overhead). Rod Fixings and Rods

Note: Use RS and RAS fixings with 6mm left-hand threaded rods only — Join two or more of R1500 threaded rods to make any length and cut to size. Once screwed together the rods appear continuous. Use RP fixing with 6mm non-threaded rods for short run applications or for wall-mount rod stabilizer supports (not intended for use with ceiling suspended applications). REC end cap requires the rods to have flat finished ends in order to fit (it cannot be used on the male threads end).

Join Multiple 6mm Rods Together

6mm rod system comes with left-hand M4 threaded rods. With a male thread at one end and a female at the other, the rods allow to be screwed into the top fixing or joined together to make longer lengths. Once screwed together the rods look like a continuous rod. Cut the rod with a hack saw at the bottom to achieve the overall required length.

Wall Mounted Rods for Horizontal Applications

Use WM11, WM11L, or RS03 fixings to mount 6mm rods onto wall to create stylish interior signage and wall displays such as hook-on acrylic pockets — just insert your print and hook on in the desired position, easy to change for displaying all types of information. Use also with RGN01 or RG01 side-grips to support panels between two horizontal rods.

Wall-Mount Rod Stabilizer / Customized Depth

Use to stabilize ceiling-to-floor suspended rods — not intended for use as a weight support structure. Standard wall projecting rod stabilizer comes in two sizes to accommodate for 24mm (7/8”) and 48mm (1-7/8”) spacing. Customizable kits use 6mm diameter rods that can be cut to any size — adjusted and shortened in place during installation.

Standard and Multi-Position Supports — Panel and Shelf Applications

Supplied in a range of single and double-sided clamp supports for holding panels and shelves, top panel supports for hanging overhead signs, top/bottom supports for gripping onto front mounted panels, and multi-position swivel supports for holding angled presentations. Available in a few standard sizes to support 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” thick panels or shelves. Use multi-position swivel supports for applications that require an angled orientation. These fittings are adjustable to any angle and can be locked into position.

Use with pre-drilled panels. Require panel hole size diameter of 6mm (15/64″) to accommodate for M4 threaded stud.

Multi-Position Supports for Panels/Shelves and Rods

Use for a variety of applications that require an angled placement or a custom orientation. Adjustable to any angle. Can be locked into position.

Note: RG12 and RG21 multi-position supports are intended for supporting 7mm (1/4″) thick panels. These supports can accommodate up to 3/8″ thick substrates but will require shorter P10/6mm set screws that can be purchased separately.

Specialty Supports — Frame and Showcase Presentations

Use for mounting wood panels and shelves, display showcases, aluminum frames, hanging clothes rails, graphic holders, horizontal rods for banners/fabrics, picture frames, wine bottles, or any item fitted with P02 boss.

Rails/Tracks and Installation Accessories

Supplied in a range of components and accessories such as aluminum rails/tracks for standard ceiling-to-floor or wall-to-wall cable suspended applications, wall brackets, quick-fit brass toggles, power connectors and isolators, decorative support plates, etc. Tracks are available in 4, 6, or 8 feet length. Custom sizes are available upon request.

Rails and Toggles

Note: Aluminum rails are offered in lengths of 4, 6, or 8 feet, with custom sizes available upon request. For installation, rail/track systems must be securely mounted to a solid structure or blocking. This includes attaching tracks to ceiling struts, structures above the ceiling line, or wall studs. The spacing for anchoring depends on the track’s sectional size, requiring anchors at least every 12 inches for ceiling installations and every 32 inches for wall applications. The overall durability and capacity of the assembly are contingent upon the secure attachment of the anchors to the ceiling or wall. The total weight the display can support is determined by both the strength of the individual anchors and the number of mounting points used.

Other Accessories

Note: Use the R150P, R250P, and R150-S to create custom size projection rods used with Wall-Mount Rod Stabilizer Assembly (more info is available in the “Specialized Accessories and Components” section above). R150-S threaded rods can only be used with RS fixings. HRAG400R and HR32R come with P02 boss attached and require the RS03/RS04 fittings for mounting to rods. P01 Decorative Support Plate is compatible with WM11 and WM11L wall fixings and can be used to enhance their appearance.
